Founder

Hello my name is Joseph De Robbio, founder and CEO of Cabinet Masters of America LLC.  I have over 50 years’ experience in the woodworking business.  I have been playing with wood (and I do say play because I truly love it, its not work to me!) since I was a very young boy, around 3 to be more accurate.

I can remember my first project was a little house I made, well it’s was merely four sides and a flat roof but I can distinctly remember nailing it together or I should say trying too as best I could…  For Christmas, my brothers and sisters got dolls and toy cars but for me I wanted tools!  I’d ask Santa for drills, saws, routers, anything to do with woodwork!  I am sure my parents thought I was odd but for me that was how I played!!  I would spend countless hours making all kinds of things.  Looking back now I see all those hours of practice would pay off over my lifetime.

At sixteen I made my first professional piece.

It was a China cabinet made from Philippine Mahogany, it had over 120 dowels in it, all drilled by hand as I did not have much in way of specialized equipment back then in addition to no plans, all done in my head!  I gave it to my mother (god rest her soul) for Christmas that year and is now at my sisters house in almost the same condition when it was built. The reason I tell you this story is because of the love I have for wood and the relationship I have made with it.  You see, it what I know best and realize it’s my calling.

I have always looked to hire those with the same love of woodwork although tougher these days as woodwork is slowly becoming a lost art. In closing we at Cabinet Masters build every project as though it was going into our own home, or business.  We take pride in what we do and believe that quality over value is key.  We may not be the cheapest company to out there but I would stake our workmanship against anyone in the industry.
